Siemens Fined RMB 1.35 Million for Unreasonable Dismissal

Oriental Morning Post – In July 2008, Siemens Ltd., China Shanghai Branch fired Mr. Xie, general manager of Anhui sub-branch. Mr. Xie applied for arbitration and required the company to resume labor relationship with him, but his request was refused. So, he asked the company to pay him RMB 3 million as compensation. Upon mediation, the company finally paid RMB 1.35 million to Mr. xie, which is the highest record in severance compensation.
