Yantai: Enterprises Investigated for Wage Nonpayment
03.09.2010 www.shm.com.cn - Shangdong, Yantai – Since implementation of the inspection on wage nonpayment for rural workers from December 2009, Yantai local government has inspected 1,271 enterprises, involving 128,500 workers and 68,900 rural workers. The government found that a total of 88 employers failed to comply with wage payment regulations, failing to pay a total of wages on time. The total amounted to an estimated 18 million yuan, including 17 million yuan for rural workers. Through the inspection, the employers were ordered by the labor authority to pay outstanding wages to 5,400 workers, including 3,600 rural workers.
