Solid and Industrial Waste

Prevention of excess solid waste should be carried out through good design, good management and advanced technology and equipment to reduce negative effects on the environment. Declaration and registration is required of producers of solid waste. Regulations describe conditions of proper disposal and corresponding facilities.

Electronic Waste

Regulations require recycling programs for electronics and electrical equipment as well as disclosure of information on disposal after such a product is discarded. Entities that specialize in handling electronic waste must be properly qualified by the government to engage in such work.

Reflecting similar legislation in Europe, measures for environmental protection specifically pertaining to 'electronic information products' which often contain hazardous materials have been released in China. The measures describe required guidelines on design and manufacture, labeling, and distribution of such products within China.
